Victoria A. Lombardi

Victoria A. Lombardi, a principal in the firm, graduated from Boston University, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1976 and thereafter graduated from Hofstra University School of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1980. Upon graduation form law school, Ms. Lombardi became an associate with Goldfarb & Bate and specialized in medical malpractice and general liability defense litigation. In 1984, Ms. Lombardi joined the law firm of Kopff, Nardelli & Dopf, LLP where she served as a senior trial attorney in the defense of medical malpractice cases. Ms. Lombardi became a partner in January 1991 and continued to hold that position until 1999 when she became a named partner in Silverson, Pareres & Lombardi, LLP. Ms. Lombardi has tried high exposure, personal injury and wrongful death cases in both Federal and State Court. She has handled cases from inception through trial, and has successfully represented medical clients, including individual physicians and hospitals such as Lenox Hill Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Methodist Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center, St. Clare's Hospital and Health Center, Staten Island University Hospital and The Society of the New York Hospital (now known as the New York Presbyterian Hospital). Her courtroom experience spans more than twenty-five (25) years, and includes numerous defense victories in brain damage, wrongful death and other high exposure cases. Ms. Lombardi has been recognized by the New York Law Journal (See New York Law Journal March 15, 2004: Noteworthy Defense Verdicts. She has also been selected for inclusion in the 2008 and 2009 editions of Super Lawyers in New York, a comprehensive guide to outstanding attorneys in specific practice areas, chosen by peer recognition and professional achievement.

Ms. Lombardi has been invited to lecture for the New York State Trial Lawyers, New York County Lawyers and the Metropolitan Women's Bar Association. Ms. Lombardi has taught trial techniques for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and has provided risk management seminars for physicians and their insurers. Ms. Lombardi served as a long time member of the Metropolitan Women's Bar Association, where she served as its president from 1997-1999 and thereafter, as Chairperson of the Board. She is a member of the New York State Medical Malpractice Defense Bar Association and The Columbian Lawyers Association. She is currently president of the Nathan R. Sobel Kings County American Inn of Court.

In addition, Ms. Lombardi serves on the Medical Malpractice Advisory Committee of the Supreme Court, State of New York, where she works closely with plaintiffs' attorneys, defense attorneys and members of the judiciary to improve medical malpractice litigation. She also serves periodically on the County Wide Independent Judicial Screening Committee for the selection of New York County Civil Court Judges. Ms. Lombardi is well known to the medical malpractice bar as a formidable adversary and trial attorney. Ms. Lombardi was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1981 and the United States District State Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1984.
