Paul J. Bottari

Paul (PJ) Bottari graduated from the University of Notre Dame with honors in 1973 and thereafter graduated from Fordham Law School in 1976.  In October of 1976 he became an associate with Kroll Edelman, which in turn became Wilson Elser in 1978, where over a 41 year career he became a senior trial attorney trying cases in toxic torts, construction litigation, medical malpractice, general liability, professional liability, product liability and premises liability.

In 2017-2020, Mr. Bottari continued as a senior trial attorney again trying high profile negligence cases. In 2020, Mr. Bottari joined Silverson Pares & Lombardi as a Senior trial attorney and litigator. He is expected to participate in all aspects of the firm’s varied practice.

Mr. Bottari has published a number of articles in the lead poisoning field as well as co-authoring a book published by the American Bar Association entitled "A Complete Guide to Lead Paint Litigation". He has also had an article published on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as well as on Punitive Damages.

Additionally, Mr. Bottari has had numerous speaking engagements, including being co-chair of Mealeys National Lead Seminar for 1997 & 1998, being a lecturer at various NYS Trial Lawyers Association seminars including "How to Pick a Jury", "How to Cross Examine an Economist" and "How to Prepare a Lead Poisoning Case". He conducted a mock trial presentation on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder at the Risk Managers Insurance Seminar (RIMS) and has been a guest lecturer for numerous insurance companies, risk managers, real estate professionals etc. regarding lead paint claims, punitive damages and unfair claims handling practices.

Mr. Bottari is a board member of the NYC Trial Lawyers Alliance and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has appeared on TV on various legal issues and has been quoted in The New York Times & Business Insurance.

He was awarded the "Defense Attorney of Distinction" by the Institute of Jewish Humanities and in 2015 was awarded "Lifetime Achievement Award" by The NYC Trial Lawyers Alliance for "his outstanding dedication & devotion to trial advocacy". He has been listed as a "Super Lawyer" on numerous occasions in the New York City area.
