Jeffrey J. Schietzelt, Esq., an associate attorney with the firm, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sacred Heart University in 1999 and his Juris Doctor Degree from Fordham University Law School in 2002. While attending Fordham, Jeffrey served as an Associate Editor of Fordham International Law Journal and upon graduation, received the annual Phillip R. Fusco Memorial Award.
Mr. Schietzelt is a trial attorney with experience trying cases as both a plaintiff and defendant in areas ranging from automobile accidents and premises liability to wrongful death and toxic torts. Mr. Schietzelt was recently recognized in the New York Law Journal's annual publication showcasing the largest jury verdicts of 2009.
Mr. Schietzelt is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the State Courts of New York, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts. Mr. Schietzelt also serves as the President of the Pinnacle Network, an organization of prominent New York City professionals.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Schietzelt played Division I volleyball at Sacred Heart University and thereafter continued to compete on various professional beach tours. While in law school, he worked for KAPLAN as an LSAT instructor, helping prospective law students prepare for the law school entrance exam. The competitive spirit, leadership skills, and comfort before groups of people developed as a top-level athlete has greatly benefited Mr. Schietzelt in the courtroom.
